Meet Eric Côté

Raised in Fauquier and having lived and worked in Northern Ontario his entire life, Eric understands the issues and values that matter to the region and its residents, including supporting small business post secondary education. Eric is a graduate of College Boreal in Civil and Mining Technology and was fortunate to be able to do the first year of this program in Kapuskasing.

As the current General Manager of Public Works for the Town of Kapuskasing and a Municipal Councillor in Moonbeam, Eric has played an active role in the region’s growth over the past 18 years. From Government grant applications such as the Connecting Link Projects, to managing a large annual budget for Public Works, water, and sewage treatment, he has been an instrumental part of local governance for many years. Eric is also a long-standing Director of the Northeastern Ontario Public Works Organisation, which has a mandate of training younger employees in the Public Works Field and networking within the region.

Eric deeply values family. His 15-year marriage to Chantal Cote brought him twins, which are a large part of his motivation for being a candidate. He wants to ensure that the next generation can enjoy the things he has experienced, such as giving back to the local high school by acting as a coach for the last 16 years.

Additionally, Eric enjoys outdoor activities and is a member of the Friends of Remi Lake Association, which offers numerous activities and services at Remi Lake that only the North can offer –hunting, fishing, and snowshoeing, to name just a few, and all within a few minutes drive.
